US team in Brong Ahafo to carry out deworming exercises

Sunyani, Jan 26, GNA - A five-member delegation from the New Life World Mission in the United States on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on Nana Kwadwo Seinti, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, and discussed issues relating to the development of the region.

The delegates led by Mr Douglas Woodard, the Chairman of the African Assistance Plan, a non-governmental organisation within the Mission, are on a five-day feasibility study tour on Child-Deworming and Rural Water projects in the region.

The other members were Mr Dale Keener, an insurance broker, Mr David Maddox, a building instructor, Mr John Maddox and Mr Matthew Woodard, businessmen.

Nana Seinti commended the delegates for the visit and expressed the hope that the relationship between the two countries would be further strengthened through mutual collaboration.

Mr Woodard thanked the Regional Minister for the audience and promised to help alleviate the plight of the people in the region and the country as a whole.

The Reverend David Donkor, the founder of the Mission, said the NGO was interested in health, education and infrastructure development. He said the delegates would undertake deworming exercises at Bofoakrom, Sukuumu, Adrobaa and dedicate a well for the people of Tanom, all in Sunyani Municipality.

The delegates later called on Mr. Kwame Twumasi-Awuah, Municipal Chief Executive at his office and he appealed to the delegates to invest in the region.
