Takoradi, Jan.17, GNA - The Western Regional branch of the Ghana National Supporters Union (GNSU) was inaugurated at Takoradi at the week-end.
Executives of the regional branch include Mr George Kuntu-Blankson as the Regional Coordinator, Mr Prince Damoah, Assistant Regional Coordinator, Mr Jerry Darko, Secretary with Sylvester Babag-Yiddam as the Treasurer.
Mr Buhari Osman, the organiser told the GNA Sports that the Union aims at mobilising the necessary support for the national teams in their various encounters.
He pledged that, "The Union would ensure they encourage massive support for the national football and other sporting teams during local andinternational tournaments".
Mr Osman said the union would also ensure that supporters behaved properly at tournaments. He said the union has embarked on mobilising of about two million supporters to support the Black Stars, the senior national team at the World Cup tournament in Germany and the CAN 2008 in Egypt. 17 Jan 06
