Mr Amponsah stated that the police later traced and arrested the accused.

The same court sentenced Kwame Obeng, unemployed, to 10 years in prison in hard labour for the illicit possession of narcotic drugs. Obeng pleaded guilty and was convicted on his own plea. Mr Amponsah said on April 07 last year, upon information that the accused was storing dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, a team of policemen was sent to Mansin, near Bechem and arrested him. A search in his room revealed quantities of the dried leaves concealed in a plastic container under his bed.

When the suspect was asked how he came by the stuff, he replied that a friend, whose name he could not disclose, gave it to him.
