Concerned Mothers Wants CID Boss Apologise Over Earlier Comments

A group calling itself Concerned Mother Association of Ghana (CoMaG) is the latest to ask Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, to show remorse by apologising for claiming she knows the location of the three girls kidnapped in the Western Region.

The group wants the CID boss to retract and apologize for the supposed deception.

“Our attention has been drawn to a statement made by the CID boss, Maame Tiwaa that she only said she knew the whereabouts of the three kidnapped girls to purportedly give false hope to the parents of the kidnapped girls without any real information on girls,” the group said in a statement.

“Indeed, hope defied makes the heart sorrowful and it is upon this Biblical truth that the CoMaG calls on her as the head of the National Police Criminal Investigation Department to come again on her recent statement by retracting and apologizing profusely to the affected families, communities, the Western Region and the whole Nation in general.”

In a press release, the Association expressed disappointment and sadness over the comment.

“You need not toy with the emotions of people especially women and girls, Maame Tiwaa. You have done lots of harm to the women race than good by this unguided comment.”

“Our recent visit to the three families revealed a rather devastating atmosphere in the homes of the victims. Mothers who can no longer hold their tears and have developed hypertension and other health conditions.”

The girls, Ruth Quayson, Priscilla Blessing Bentum and Priscilla Koranchie are believed to have been kidnapped between August 2018 and December 2018.

Our attention has been drawn to a statement made by the CID boss, Maame Tiwaa that she only said she knew the whereabouts of the three kidnapped girls to purportedly give false hope to the parents of the kidnapped girls without any real information on girls.

The CID Boss said, ” The Police know where the kidnapped girls are”, in a Press Conference her outfit held early April this year only to come back in May to swallow her words. We the Concerned Mothers Association of Ghana (CoMaG) have notice with utter disappointment and sadness that a woman of her caliber and social standing could throw dust into the eyes of the already tearing parents and families who are affected by the Takoradi Kidnapped girls’.

Indeed, hope defied makes the heart sorrowful and it is upon this Biblical truth that the CoMaG calls on her as the head of the National Police Criminal Investigation Department to come again on her recent statement by retracting and apologizing profusely to the affected families, communities, the Western Region and the whole Nation in general.

We are asking the Government to marshal all the security agencies in the country and even Interpol to solve this problem which is becoming a national security threat. Our recent visit to the three families revealed a rather devastating atmosphere in the homes of the victims. Mothers who can no longer hold their tears and have developed hypertension and other health conditions.

The actions and inactions of the Police are now given credence to the rumours that such an important state protection agency had a hand in the kidnapping of the girls. The Police of not also bothered to conduct the parade the suspect requested in order to identify the said aid or assistant.

It is also worrying that officers like the Takoradi District Commander and the CID handling the kidnapped case have been transferred whiles the matter still lingers in the docket of the Police. Our patience as concerned mothers and ordinary citizens of our dear nations Ghana is running out and we need some concrete and positive actions now or never.

Where lies our hope of protection, security and social cohesion if the Police cannot ensure the safety of the ordinary Ghanaians. What went wrong, for the whole CID Boss to “choke” and make mockery of such a human security threat.
