The distressed mother Salamatu Yaw Attomy who delivered quadruplets at the Singa Community Health Centre in the North Gonja District has received support from a philanthropist Sulemana Iddrisu (prof. Kalimonia).

Presenting the undisclosed amount of money to the woman at the Tamale Teaching Hospital on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, Mr. Iddrisu congratulated Salmata for her ability to carry four children in her womb for nine months.

He said children are a gift from God and admonished the woman not to be worried about how to take care of them.

He assured the family he will continue to support the children till they grow to become responsible men and women in society.

"This is just the beginning of my support to these children. I was touched when I heard the news and has to cut short my campaign to come and support them" he said.

He called on other benevolent individuals and organizations to also come to the rescue of the distressed mother.

Prof. Kalimonia is a Chairmanship candidate in the May 20 NPP delegates conference in the newly created Savannah Region.

He is known for his philanthropic work across the three regions of the North.

It will be recalled that a bole based radio station Nkilgi FM started a campaign to get support for the family who have been referred to the Tamale Teaching Hospital from Singa.

According to the notice of appeal, the family could not even pay for the Ambulance which carried the woman and the children to Tamale but for the intervention of the North Gonja District Chief Executive.

The children have since been put in an incubator at the teaching hospital and are doing well.
