During our routine prayer time with a group of women today, the leader focused our prayers for mothers who are hurting, and the Lord led me to pen this. Please share it with others. I pray that it will minister to Mothers who find it hard celebrating Mother’s Day.

As we celebrate Mother’s Day in the US and other countries, we rejoice with mothers and praise them for their selfless love and commitment to their children, community, and husbands. We also celebrate Mothers who though they may not have biological children, have labored for children they have fostered, adopted, and mentored in many ways, physically, emotionally or spiritually. However, there may be mothers who are not rejoicing at this time. These may include but are not limited to the following - mothers who are: In prison, have had miscarriages, death of a child, addicted to drugs and alcohol, prostitutes, domestic violence and sex trafficking victims, single financially strapped mothers and mothers with estranged or alienated adult children. Some mothers in these situations may this weekend feel sorrowful, guilty, regretful, resigned, angry and sad, WITHOUT HOPE.

To those, I will say, God never gives up on us. He is the God of Do-Overs, and His Do Overs may not necessarily be what we expect, but in the end, it will amaze us.

Be rest assured He can first of all:
Make Special Grace abound to you. 2 Corth. 9:8
Turn your ashes into something beautiful Isaiah 61:3

Give you oil of joy for mourning Isaiah 61:3
Give you praise instead of the spirit of heaviness you carry. Isaiah 61:3

Turn your mourning into dancing Psalms 30: 11
It even gets better because the latter part of Isaiah 61:3 talks about God Himself-( the one who created you) - calls YOU righteous because He has made provision for you to attain righteousness through Him. This is the God you can have a relationship with and serve the rest of your life. The apostle Paul puts it this way in Philippians 3:12 ‘Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I PRESS ON, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me” (NKJV). God WANTS and DESIRES to lay hold of you so you can receive ALL THAT HE HAS FOR YOU.

So, for those who are celebrating mothers, do so, but I would like us to PRAY for and ENCOURAGE those who feel hopeless and are mourning; and for mothers who are being celebrated, lets not forget the others, but mourn with those who mourn and be there for them.

To the Sorrowful mothers, I say Get Hold of God by first knowing Him in a personal way. Jesus died to give you life and more abundantly. It is easy to know him as John recorded in John 3:16. “For God so loved the world that He GAVE His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (NKJV). He does not condemn you, He wants to affirm and encourage you.

You may have already experienced Him in a personal way but are still sad due to any of the aforementioned situations. Do not despair:

Read the above verses and let them sink in.
Talk to God about your situation and Trust Him.
Let someone you trust know how you feel, don’t keep it bottled in.

Ask someone to pray alongside with you.
Forgive kids who have offended you or have been ungrateful.

God does not forget your “labor of love” to them.

Press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. He has more for you.

This Mother’s Day can be a Happy Day for you as well. God is able to Grace you with Peace and Joy. I pray He does that for YOU.

Happy Mother’s Day.
Blessings
