The biggest telecommunication provider in Ghana, MTN Ghana, has a contributed total of Ghc1.48 billion into government coffers in 2018.

The Telecom giant made Ghc1.3 million to Ghana revenue authority (GRA) and Ghc184 million to its regulators and Gifec.

The total figure rates the company as the biggest taxpayer 2018 in Ghana, which affords its the platinum award in the same year.

Mr. Samuel Koranteng, corporate service executive of MTN made these known at the editors' forum in Kumasi, Thursday.

The forum aimed at interacting with the media editors to keep abreast with current happenings, activities and implementation's channeling to serve better customers delivery.

Mr. Samuel Koranteng in his presentation says, MTN has provided 500k jobs through the ecosystem of partnership and suppliers and the country.

"This means" according to him, "the company has employed half a million of the country employment system in Ghana".

He mentioned that About 145 project in been embarked across the country by company through MTN Ghana Foundation.

This projects accelerate through Health, education and economic empowerment, save a life campaign, a community outreach program, Green initiatives which focuses on solar and recycling among many others.

Projects In Ashanti region
Commenting on some development project in the Ashanti, Mr. Koranteng hinted that, the region has received massive developmental projects in diverse ways.

Sis unit classroom block at Nhyiaeso in the Kumasi metropolis, Juaso palm oil processing factory among others.

As part of Ashanti-Fest celebration which is to honour Asantehene Otumfuor Osei Tutu, the company has supported Asante Kotoko football club football pitch at a cost of Ghc600,000.00.

This year Ashanti fest is allotted to showcase Ashanti traditions proper.
