Family Of Man Shot To Death By Police Weep Uncontrollably

“He was on the bike going when the Police started shooting at him. When he fell down, the other guys were standing behind watching. They picked the body, put it in a truck and left. They were returning from the clubhouse when the incident happened. Everyone in Adabraka knows he is not a thief,” deceased friend narrated.

The family of 24-year-old Kelvin Adjetey, son of a retired Chief inspector has been thrown into a state of mourning following his alleged killing by some police officers.

The incident reportedly happened over the weekend around 12 midnight on the Accra High Street close to the Post Office.

Kelvin Adjetey and his friends were said to be riding a motorbike away from Club House when the incident occurred.

When Citi News' Caleb Kudah visited the family at Adabraka, his ailing mother, who suffers from stroke had been relocated so she will not hear the news of the death of her son.

Kevin's friend, Braimah Mohammed who gave account on the incident that leads to the death of Kelvin said he was on a motorbike with his two friends when the police started giving warning shots so the other friends jumped off the bike.

There has been a number of mistake shootings by the Ghana police, with the police giving the excuse of suspected armed robbers.

Recently a man was shot dead at Akweley, Kasoa.

In July 2018 there was tension in Asawasi, in Kumasi for days following the killing of seven residents the police claimed were armed robbers.
