Member of Parliament (MP) for Krachi West in the Oti Region, Helen Adwoa Ntoso, has warned members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), especially delegates of the upcoming parliamentary primaries distance themselves from politicians who want to lure them with all manner of false promises.

According to her, politicians who for personal selfish interest are popping up in the constituency with promises and making unfounded allegations against her and executives of the party in order to shore up their unimpressive campaign messages.

One of such persons is one Ndemele Magdalene, aka "Baby Understanding" who has vowed to use all false promises to deceive people to unseat the former Volta Regional Minister.

Speaking to on political program, "Battle Ground" on Radio XYZ last week, "Baby Understanding" alleged Mrs Ntoso did not help bring development to the constituency, a reason she had to announce her intention to unseat her in the yet to be announced NDC primary in Krachi West.

The self-acclaimed, ‘saviour’ for the constituency bragged that Mrs Ntoso was not in good terms with her constituency executives.

She added that if she (Ntoso) was allowed to represent the party in the 2020 elections, she would be defeated.

But reacting to the allegation on same platform last Friday, Hon Ntoso debunked those claims by Ndemel and asked electorates in the constituency to treat them with the highest contempt it deserves.

She noted that she came into politics not for the cabals but for the masses, stressing that she was voted twice into office to serve the good people of Krachi West.

She urged the constituent to avoid people that will use them for their selfish ambitions.

Mrs. Ntoso explained that it was not true that she and her party executives had scores to settle, adding that she has been very honest to the good people of Krachi West regardless of their tribes.

“I have heard that I didn’t do anything for the Volta Region and my constituency when I was appointed a minister for my region. I did not spend more than a week in that office and I was appointed as the Eastern Regional minister,” Madam Ntoso told host Mugabe Maase on Friday.

The former Regional Minister pointed out that, the constituents is aware of her sacrifices she made for them when the NDC was in power and thus, what Baby had put out were blatant lies just to court public sympathy.

“After I was appointed to be the Eastern Regional Minister, I worked hard for the people although they were not in my home region…In 2015, I was adjudged the best Regional Minister in Ghana. The records are there for everyone to verify,” the former minister noted.

“I have done a lot both in the Eastern and in the Volta Region,” she said and recounted how she lobbied for various projects to be embarked in her constituency.

Mrs Ntoso, a Reverend Minister with Mount Horeb Victorious Church International cited the construction of about 27 kilometres roads on virgin lands in the constituency which was awarded to First Sky company to work on several roads which included the Chinderi – Krachi road.

“I aided the Ntewusa- Blekope road. I lobbied for the fixing of some roads linking Krachi and other villages…Before I became a Member of Parliament, residents of many villages were not able to come to Krachi market but today they are able to do so because their bad roads have been given facelift,” she added. “Now people are able to come to market without any difficulty and the market which has been constructed is one of the best markets in the region.”

She added that she did her best to get some social amenities including school blocks, solar lights and water facilities for residents in the remote areas of the constituencies.

In the Eastern Region, Mrs Ntoso said she embarked on numerous projects for the development of the region, pointing that, at the time when the Mahama government was battling illegal mining which was rife in the Eastern Region, her office fiercely fought the canker and brought some sanity in the area.

“I was going to the bush myself. You know I’m a filled trained person and because of my background I personally fought galamsey in the region,” she said.

Madam Ntoso, who has received many awards in Africa and the globally for her role in promoting peace, said her constituents are yet to see huge infrastructural development in that part of the Oti Region.

She assured them the NDC will continue serving and improving their livelihood and welfare through various development projects and advised that they remained focused and work towards doubling the votes of John Mahama –flagbearer of NDC– in the constituency.

“For Krachi West to continue enjoying fruits of development, people should vote for the NDC and John Mahama in 2020 general elections," she intimated.
