Kumasi, Jan 8, GNA - Ignatius Gaisah, world high jump medallist and the SWAG Sports Personality award winner, on Thursday donated food items and a cash of 500,000 cedis to the Kumasi Children's Home. The items included five bags of rice, 25 litre cooking oil, 20 loaves of bread, four cartons of Tampico fruit drink and used clothings. Gaisah said the donation was his widow's mite to support the upkeep of the children.
He pledged to visit the Home regularly to assist the inmates live a fruitful life.
Madam Victoria Asugnya, Supervisor of the Home thanked the athlete for his kind gesture.
She appealed to individuals and organizations to assist the Home to expand the school to cater for the increasing number of children being admitted there in recent times.
