Apam (C/R), Jan. 4, GNA - The Reverend Father Jude Ampah, parish priest of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Apam has urged Christians to enter the New Year with hope and assurance of good things to come. Preaching a sermon on New Year's Day, Rev. Fr. Ampah said the birth of Christ had given Christians a new hope.

He said the sins committed by Adam and Eve made mankind to lose the good relationship that had existed between God and mankind. That had made man to lose hope of seeing the Kingdom of God but the birth of Christ had restored that hope to mankind.

He said the birth of Christ should unify Ghanaians especially our politicians to enable them to work together to move the nation forward. "We should bury our differences and see ourselves as one people with a common destiny", Rev. Father Ampah stated.

He urged the opposition to support the good policies of the government while the government should not always use its numerical strength to lord it over the opposition, it should listen to the views of the opposition at certain times.

Father Ampah expressed concern about the upsurge of indiscipline in the society and appealed to Christians to lead the crusade in fighting it.
