Accra bourse begins year on quiet note

Accra, Jan. 3, GNA - The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) began the year on a quiet note with only one gainer and the main stock index barely inching up.

The GSE All-Share Index, the main stock gauge, gained 0.13 points to close trading at 4,769.15 points from last year's close of 4,769.02 points.

Change for the year began at 0.13 per cent. Change for the year ended last year at -28.85 per cent.

Total shares traded opened the year at 105,800 shares while market capitalisation opened the year at 91,857.61 billion cedis.

On the broader market, there was only one price change - a two-cedi gain by Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited at 7,742 cedis.
