Tuobodom (B/A), Dec. 27 GNA - A number of prominent citizens of Tuobodom in Brong Ahafo have appealed to the traditional authorities to find a lasting solution to the chieftaincy dispute in the area. They noted with regret that the dispute had set back the town's clock of progress and expressed the hope that other well-meaning citizens of the town would assist in the resolution of the impasse. Mr Kofi Nimoh, a member of the Twafo Royal Family, noted in an interview with Ghana News Agency that the installation of two chiefs in the town had retarded the development process in the area.
Mr Nimoh, Accountant of the Techiman Zonal Council, urged the people to shed all differences and not to allow chieftaincy issues to divide them at the expense of the development of the town. "As Christians we need to respect the views of each other and strive to promote inter-religious co-operation and understanding for the sustenance of peace, harmony and progress in the area", he said. Mr Nimoh noted that Tuobodom could become a thriving second district capital in the near future if the citizenry united and shunned chieftaincy disputes. He advised parents and guardians to enrol their children and wards in schools as the best legacy they could bequeath to them.
