Abekoase (E/R), Dec. 25, GNA - The chief of Abekoase in the Atiwa District, Barima Akromah Acheampong, II, has made a passionate appeal to the Ministry of Roads and Highways to rehabilitate the road from Akim Abakoase to Akim Sekyere to link the Accra - Kumasi highway. Barima Akroma Acheampong made the appeal at Akim Abakoase on Saturday, and said the 10-kilometer road also served other farming communities in the area where many tonnes of foodstuffs were always locked up. He said the situation made it rather difficult for farmers to bring their produce to the marketing centres at Subiriso, Akutuase and Abekoase.

Barima Akromah asked all citizens of the town to come home during the Christmas to assist in the development of the community. He said projects envisaged for the community include the construction of a public library, a market and arresting the falling standard of education in the area. He asked the people to embrace the spirit of self-help to supplement the efforts of government to improve the living conditions of the people.
