Bolgatanga, Dec. 8, GNA - An aspirant in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) General Secretary race, Mr Antwi-Bediako Sekyere, has stated that he is the ideal person to bring victory to the Party in the 2008 elections.

Mr Sekyere was interacting with the media in Bolgatanga on Thursday.

He stressed that the NDC needed a General Secretary who could articulate the Party's ideology, policies and programmes and at the same time be much more concerned about mobilizing and organising the broad masses of the people in the branches and the constituencies. The Aspiring General Secretary indicated that building a strong and virile organization would be his vision and focus, adding that, "winning the next election would be my major pre-occupation".

Mr Sekyere indicated that he would build a Party rooted in grassroots structures, "a learning Party that would respond to the aspirations of the majority of Ghanaians and also linked to all segments of society".

He further stated that with his vast experience as the former Eastern Regional Minister, former Regional Organising Assistant of the Committees for the Defence of the Revolution and former Executive Member of Manchester Central Constituency Labour Party, he would provide bold, radical and dynamic leadership.

He impressed upon all Party members and supporters to vote for him to champion the party to victory in 2008. He cautioned supporters and sympathisers not to be complacent but to work harder to win more souls for the party to enable it win victory in the upcoming election.
