Teacher defiles class four pupil

Tarkwa (W/R) Dec. 1, GNA- The Tarkwa Circuit Court, has imposed a 50 million-cedi bail with one surety to be justified on David Awere, a teacher at Apiaesuman near Ateiku in the Western Region for allegedly defiling a primary four school pupil.

The court presided over by Mr John Ajet Nasam ordered him to re-appear on December 6, 2005.

Awere who was the teacher of the victim had been remanded in prison custody for two weeks over the case. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Joseph Komla Agbedor said Awere promised buying drugs for the ailing victim and ended up defiling her in his bedroom.

He said the accused placed her on his bed and laid beside her. When she fell asleep he removed her panties and had sexual intercourse with her.

The victim who was bleeding profusely informed her elder sister about her ordeal, who in turn reported the matter to her mother, leading to the arrest of the accused.
