NPP Chairman wanted by police

Report reaching your authoritative newspaper “The Servant” has revealed that a notorious figure within the Obuasi branch of t he New Patriotic Party who has been terrorizing innocent people in the municipality and two other accomplices are currently on the run after being declared wanted by the municipal police unit.

Mallam Meregah affectionately called “Washington” was elected the polling station chairman of the New Patriotic Party for one of the Zongo polling stations in a controversial polls which resulted in a nasty confrontation between the municipal chief executive Hon. Joseph Kojo Boampong and one other contestant Umara Ibrahim (alias Mallam Moro).

In public, Mallam Moro demanded that the M. C. E. be compelled to leave the scene, as he was alleged to be directing voters to vote in a particular direction.

The M. C. E. who denied the allegation there and then failed to leave the scene, although he was not part of the constituency executive committee that was supervising the elections.

According to an undisclosed source within the municipal unit, Meregah is being sought by the police for allegedly ordering two other accomplices Abu 'Commando” and Abu Ninja all resident at the Zongo community to seriously assault one Seidu Nuhu 26, a bookman at the main Obuasi-Accra Express Station.

According to sources the two who attacked Nuhu accused him of preventing their uncle Mallam Meregah from covering the Abuum well, which has been shrouded in so much controversy in the past weeks.

Seidu Nuhu told our correspondent that he sustained serious injuries in the rib and on the eye and was issued with a medical report to attend hospital.

Further investigations by “The Servant” however revealed that all two accomplices, Abu Commando and Abu Ninja have long been on the police wanted list for some time now.

Whiles Abu Commando is reported to have stabbed one policeman popularly called Lion, a few months ago; Abu Ninja is also alleged to have links with some armed robbers.

Mallam Meregah, our investigations revealed, is also facing trial at the Obuasi Circuit Court with two other notorious N. P. P. members Fuseini and Alhasan Allabira for allegedly assaulting one Boadi of Bogobiri and robbing him of some amount of money.

This same gang of three led by Meregah allegedly attackedand assaulted one Baaba Alhassan and robbed him of various items. Alhassan Allabira and one other are also on record to have attacked and insulted the Member of Parliament Hon. Ennin on the alleged orders of a high profile politician. In almost all these misbehavior nothing concrete seemed to have resulted from the cases most of which are before the courts and the police.

They are alleged to have said on several platforms that they belong to a government in power and that; they have key men in authority behind them.
