Gold Fields Ghana Cautions Public Against Recruitment Scam

Gold Fields Ghana has denied reports that it is recruiting new persons for various positions at its Damang mine, operated by Abosso Goldfields Limited, a statement has said.

The gold mining company deflated the hopes of some individuals who claim they have received congratulatory letters stating categorically that it is a scam and should be ignored.

“The letters also demand that payment of ¢487 be made by the supposed successful applicants as registration fee for a compulsory pre-employment seminar.

“Those who receive such letters are encouraged to report to the law enforcement agencies. Gold Fields does not, at any point in the recruitment process, require applicants to make payment,” the company said in a statement.
