Western Alliance Wants Police To Act Proactively Over Kidnapped Girls
25.01.2019 LISTEN

Western Alliance for NPP Governance has observed with great concern that the Western Regional Police Command is not doing enough to bring back the innocent girls who have been kidnapped for over four months now.

The girls comprise Priscilla Blessing Bentum who was last seen on 21st August 2018, Ruth Love Quayson who got lost on 4th December 2018 and Priscilla Mantebea Bentum who was last seen on 21st December 2018.

However, on 23rd January 2019, the Western Regional Commander, DCOP Vincent Dedzoe held a Press Conference to brief the public on the state of affairs of the missing Girls.

In the view Western Alliance for NPP Governance, the Press Conference is very unfortunate because it couldn't indicate pragmatic steps the police is taking to find the whereabouts of these Girls.

It is instructive to note that this kidnapping Issues started as far back as March 2018 and that ten people have been kidnapped but only a few of them have been rescued according to Paa Kwesi Simpson a journalist who works at Connect Fm in Takoradi.

Information available to us is that some Party leaders have met with some Regional Police Commanders to allow some of this insecurity to go on to create disaffection for the ruling government so that it will serve as a lunch pad to criticize the ruling government.

Even today 24th January 2019, another Girl has been kidnapped in Takoradi which reinforces our position that the Police is indeed not doing enough in terms of security in Region.

We are by this Press Release calling on the Members of Parliament in the Region especially Hon. Joe Ghartey who doubles as the Chairman of the Western Regional Caucus in Parliament to as a matter urgency intervene in this matter to unravel the mystery behind this dastardly act in order not to destroy the Good Will of the Akuffo Addo government.

We also call on the Gender Minister to liaise with Cabinet Sub -Committee on Security to bring a lasting solution to this all of a sudden kidnapping which is unknown to the Ghanaian society.

We would like to use this opportunity to invite the Western Regional House of Chiefs to come out and put pressure on the Western Regional Police Commander to deal with the perpetrators behind this Kidnapping ruthlessly.

To the residence of Western Region and for that matter Sekondi/Takoradi we would like them to note that security is a shared responsibility and therefore they must take their personal security serious and critical.

Moving forward, we would like to appeal to the government as well to look at our Security Architecture critically and weed out the unprofessional police Personnel who are trying to sabotage the current Administration.

In conclusion, the Western Alliance would want to call on the NPP Government to treat this kidnapping Issue as a threat on National Security since the ultimate responsibility lies at the doorstep of the Government. #BringBackTheTaadiGirls

God Bless Ghana.!

God Bless NPP.!!

And God Bless The Western Alliance For NPP Governance!
