The Deputy National Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Chief Hamilton Biney has described as unfortunate the increasing levels of insecurity in the country.

He made this known on UTV's political show hosted by Agya Kwabena, while responding to certain pronouncements by Mr Yaw Preko, the Deputy Director of Communications of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Mr Yaw Preko, in an attempt to justify President Akufo Addo's 2016 campaign promise on security, as enshrined in Chapter 14 page 147 of NPP's 2016 Manifesto, said the party at the time, did not trust the police and other security agencies hence resort to Mercenaries who were brought down from South Africa to train their men and women to guard the party.

He added that the security situation under the erstwhile John Mahama led administration was bias. It made the NPP's position very reasonable at the time which seeks to find an alternative way of protecting themselves.

In a sharp rebuttal on the show, Chief Biney lambasted Yaw Preko by describing his (Yaw Preko) comments vulgar and a "declaration of war."

According to him, the NPP's scribe position can be evidenced in the formation of the NPP's terror group, Delta Forces and Invincible forces who were fearfully trained by security capos from South Africa because of their mistrust for the security agencies.

"It means that Ghanaians must take the law into their own hands now, find their own means of protection since insecurity is now a household name under the Akufo Addo led administration, with contract killing becoming a daily activity," he intimated.
