'Stomach Pastors' must be weeded out

Agona Asafo (C/R), Nov 30, GNA - Prophetess Agnes Dokuwaah, Head of the Gethsemane Apostolic Prayer Centre at Asafo in the Agona District of the Central Region, has called on the Christian Council and the Pentecostal Council not to hesitate to weed out "stomach pastors" who are dragging the name of the Gospel into the mud.

She observed that some money conscious Pastors had got access unto the airwaves and were using the word of God for their parochial interest instead preaching the true Gospel.

Speaking to the GNA at Asafo on Monday, Prophetess Dokuwaah, stated that some of these Pastors had taken advantage of the economic hardship prevailing in the country to dupe their congregations and people who thronged their Churches and Prayer Camps to seek healing.

She explained that the doctrine of these Pastors had not made any impact on the society since they are aimed at amassing wealth at the expense of the people who attend their Churches and said that some Pastors traveled outside the country to use all kinds of methods to amass wealth.

Pastors must follow the direction of the Holy Spirits before prophesying and to make special efforts to mend broken down marriages, division in families and other things denting the image of Christianity. She said that they should help people going through frustrations and other anxieties instead of "pushing them to the wall".
