Stop 'Killing Yourselves' for Akufo-Addo's Government —NPP Members Advised
22.01.2019 LISTEN

Deputy Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Brong Ahafo Region, Eric Adjei said the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government is not worth dying for.

In a statement signed by NDC's Communicator, Eric Adjei said the angry NPP First Vice Chairman of Brong Ahafo Region, Kwame Baffoe who has been defending the ruling party has now been neglected by his own party after attempting to expose some ills and corrupt deals in the Akufo Addo government.

The statement cited Kwame Baffoe popularly known as Abronye DC, a firebrand of the NPP, was physically assaulted by persons believed to be his own party members when he attempted to expose some corrupt deals about the former Brong Ahafo Regional Minister who is currently the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources.

"The vociferous vice chairman of the NPP in the Brong Ahafo region was attacked when he came out publicly to expose the rots, ills and corrupt practices of Hon. Asomah Cheremeh", he stated.

He added that the NPP Vice Chairman in the Brong-Ahafo has openly swore never to defend this government on any political show.

"What a sad story for the vociferous party communicator. To be beaten mercilessly by your own party faithfuls and be abandoned by the same party? This is what the NPP is made up of," Mr. Adjei stressed.

He advised other members of the NPP to draw lessons from it and stop jeopardizing their lives for the Akufo-Addo government.

Below is the full statement

NPP AND THE NANA ADDO GOVERNMENT IS NOT WORTH DYING FOR

Exactly a year today, 13th Jan. 2018, Kwame Baffoe Abronye was beaten mercilessly with canopy metals by some NPP thugs who are known supporters of Hon. Kweku Asomah Cheremeh. He sustained various injuries including fracture of the right arm.

The voiceferous vice chairman of the NPP in the Brong Ahafo region was attacked when he came out publicly to expose the rots, ills and corrupt practices of Hon. Asomah Cheremeh.

Due to the strong influence of the Minister in the NPP government and an attempt to brush off any corrupt case against appointees of the NPP government, nothing substantial has been heard of this. It is however important to state that, the first gentleman of the land was petitioned by Kwame Baffoe with evidence yet nothing was done. The thugs who beat Abronye mercilessly walk as free men. This is an endorsement of lawlessness. This may not be surprising to many since nothing substantial came out of NPP thugs who assaulted a court of competent jurisdiction for engaging in acts of lawlessness.

It is important to note that, Kwame Baffoe went to Atebubu to meet NPP party faithfuls.

It is also interesting to state that, the party (NPP) and the government has since the incident not issued any statement to condemn the attack but rather the president has promoted the person who masterminded the attack on him to head a sensitive portfolio in government.

The embattled NPP Vice Chairman in the Brong-Ahafo recently openly declared he has been neglected by the party and will not defend the government on any media outlet again. What a sad story for the voiceferous party communicator. To be beaten mercilessly by your own party faithfuls and be abandoned by the same party? This is what the NPP is made up of.

As we call upon the good people of Ghana to know the kind of persons they have elected in government, it is important to remind other young NPP sympathizers about atrocities of Abronye and take a cue from it.

The NPP government is indeed not worth dying for, it is only concerned with amassing wealth through corrupt deals and attacking people who openly criticize them.

God save us from the hands of this super-incompetent government.

Signed!

Eric Adjei
