The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, Mr. Michael Okyere Baafi, as a result of his remarkable and distinct performance at work, has emerged the best CEO of the year 2018.

This is according to an investigative survey conducted by FAKS Investigative Services.

The 7th edition of the FAKS Investigative Services' assessment of the performances of Chief Executive Officers, Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Members of Parliaments and Regional Ministers was conducted between the period of October and December 2018.

Michael Okyere Baafi, the Executive Secretary of Ghana Free Zones Authority holds a B.Ed in Psychology, an MBA in Marketing and Corporate Strategy and MSc degree in Risk Management and Consulting.

He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, (UK) and has 15 years working experience in Strategic Marketing, Corporate Decision Making, and Customer Relationship Management at various levels. He has a massive transaction and engagement skills which come on the back of professional competence and results oriented attitude.

Ghanaians including students, petty traders, journalists, MPs, civil society organizations, traditional rulers, business owners and others made up the target of the survey.

Mr. Michael Okyere Baafi has indeed outperformed than what was expected could achieve.

His excellent performance is clearly evident in the heightened performance in the country's export just within less than two years.

Under his able leadership, companies operating under the Ghana Free Zones regime exported goods valued at US$1.04 billion in the first nine months of last year, as against their total imports of US$113.1 million within the same period. Also, 11,948 Ghanaians, including 4,452 females, were employed by Free zones companies within the period.
