Partners, Volunteers Share Working Experiences With UWSA
JAN 15, 2019 GENERAL NEWS

As the Universal Wonderful Street Academy (UWSA) marks its 8th anniversary this year, some foreign volunteers and partners share their experiences with the academy and extended their goodwill to the project.

For the past eight years, the UWSA has been supporting underprivileged children in Jamestown and its environs, taking care of their educational, healthcare and other needs. In all, UWSA provides for about 200 children.

Mirka is one of the partners and volunteers who has been working with the UWSA. She had been in Ghana on three consecutive occasions and said she highly appreciates the project.

She asked parents to support their children by encouraging them to take their lessons seriously so as to enable the children benefit from the academy. She assured the academy of her consistent support.

Marion, a volunteer from Germany, who was in Ghana for the time, said she hold the project in high esteem since the academy is doing something positive and transforming the lives of children.

She was impressed with operations of the academy and assured that she would visit repeatedly after her return to Germany.

Nina, another volunteer, had her maiden experience in Africa and said Ghana is a place to repeatedly visit.

She was delighted to have an experience with UWSA which is offering the chance to underprivileged pupils to develop their educational wellbeing while developing their talents.

“I am sponsoring one child and I hope she becomes responsible through the support. I am blessed to be associated with this project,” she added.

Peter has been in Ghana for three times and he said he is privileged to be associated with the UWSA.

Peter is happy seeing the children engaged in activities that would transform their lives for the better and enabling them to make positive choices as they grow. He promised to continuously support the UWSA both in Ghana and the office in Germany.

Raquel, a Spanish volunteer, expressed her delight to be associated with the project and said it is one of the best child-centred projects she has ever worked with.

She thanked management of the UWSA for given her the opportunity to volunteer in Ghana just like she has been doing with the project's office in Spain with Beatriz Garcia, the director.

Vanessa was also in Ghana for the first time and said, she was privileged to serve as volunteer in the academy. She said, it was wonderful sharing time with the children and teaching them new things.

She also look forward to returning to volunteer again and to support the children.

Meanwhile the Director of the UWSA, Louis Yeboah Womder Doe, thanked all partners and volunteers in Spain and Germany for their support for the children.

He expressed appreciation to Judith, Peter, Mirka, Veit Sabine, Ekkehart and Sandra including Raymond of wingsaroundtheworld.com for the consistent support.
