Kumasi: Woman Found Dead in Well

Residents of Paraku Estate in Kumasi were frightened on Friday morning when they discovered a body of a woman in a well.

A certain lady, who had gone to fetch water from the well in the morning, was shocked to see the dead woman in the well.

The frightened woman instantly raised an alarm which attracted scores of curious people to the location.

The body of the woman, believed to be in her early 30s, was seen floating in the well.

Most of the people that rushed to the scene said they do not know the deceased in the serene community.

The sandals, mobile phone and other personal items of the deceased were placed few meters from the well.

It's unclear whether the woman committed suicide by jumping into the deep well, which is situated behind a certain house.

Some people at the scene claimed the lady was killed somewhere and the body dumped in the well at Paraku Estate.

“This well is the main source of water for us in this neighbourhood, and so we were surprised to see the body of the woman in the well.

As at the time of filling the report, residents were awaiting police personnel to convey the body to the mortuary and commence investigation into the matter.
