Mahmoud Omar, the resident site engineer is optimistic that the new Tain District Hospital would be completed within the first half of the year 2019. According to Mr. Mahmoud, they were initially facing challenges with tax exemption of some of the materials the contractor imported into the country which made the materials for the project get stacked at the port for a period of time which made them not to meet the deadline but this and all other constraints according to him has been resolved and all the need material are available .

This was revealed when the District Chief Executive Hon. Lawyer Charity Akua Foriwaa Dwommoh visited the site to monitor the progress of work.

Engineer Mahmoud Omar who took the DCE and her entourage through the facility said all the civil works has been done and they are currently fixing the air conditions and the outside painting of the building.

The sixty bed capacity hospital when completed would be fitted with state of the art medical facilities such as digital library ,digital patient record keeping facility, ambulance station, both out and in patients pharmacy, radiotherapy department, reproductive care unit, physiotherapy, sewage treatment plant, power station, mortuary, mini market, rest rooms, 15 apartment staff housing unit and all relevant units and components of a modern healthcare delivery facility.

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Lawyer Charity Akua Foriwaa Dwommoh assured the engineer if the Tain District Assembly's support and willingness to work with them to resolve any challenges they might encounter to facilitate early completion of the project.

She was optimistic that the completion of the project which government is committed to will enhance access to quality healthcare in the district and beyond.

The DCE was accompanied on the tour by the District engineer, Mr. Samuel Essay Okoreh, the District Health Director, Dr. Kofi Annor Duku Annor and officials of the Tain District Assembly.
