Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Caution Members Against Arrogance, Conceit

The Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mira Masroor Ahmad, has cautioned Ahmadi Muslims against arrogance and Conceit.

He said this often arises as a result of their tribal affiliation because it hinders the achievement of piety.

'What is essential is that you should enhance your standard of piety and righteousness because God's blessings are derived from treading on this path,' he said.

This was in his message to the 87th Annual National Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Ghana, which opened at Pomadze near Winneba in the Central Region on Friday.

The Convention is on the theme: "Building a Violent-Free Society: The Role of the Citizen."

More than 25,000 Ahmadi Muslims from all parts of Ghana and the United States, Kenya, Nigeria, and Trinidad and Tobago among other countries are attending the three-day convention, expected to end on January 6.

Hazrat Masroor Ahmad reminded the congregation that Islam teaches that people from whatever nation or tribe are the creatures of God and that the most honourable among them in the sight of God is the one who is righteous.

'Belonging to a particular tribe does not grant any person nobility therefore it does not behold the dignity of a righteous person that he should involve himself in futile arguments relating to ones tribal status.

'In the sight of Allah, social position has no value,' Hazrat Masroor Ahmad said and that 'The only source of obtaining respect and honour is none other than righteousness'.

He said the task of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is to spread the message of Islam, which is peace, brotherhood, and harmony throughout the earth and bring all mankind to the threshold of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
