Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi recorded twenty new born babies on the New Year’s Day, January 1, 2019, with twelve males and eight females, including twins.

The Senior Staff Midwife of KATH, Bernice Akandi, said nine were delivered through Caesareans Section (CS) whiles ten were spontaneous delivery with twins.

“Five out of the CS delivery were males and four were females,” she told Otec News’ reporter Jacob Agyenim Boateng.

She advised pregnant women to eat nutritious food and regularly visit hospitals to check their health status of both mother and the unborn to ensure safe delivery.

She advised midwifes and traditional birth attendants in rural areas to refer pregnant women early to the hospital to avoid complications, which could lead to post natal death.
