Sunyani Pastors Urge Ghanaians to Support Government Agenda

Some Reverend Ministers in the Sunyani Municipality have said there is the need for every Ghanaian to show patriotism by contributing his/her quota towards government's effort in building a well-developed nation.

According to the pastors, the Supreme Being (creator of the universe) - 'God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit' did not create humankind and generally the world alone but as team and this is attested in the book of Genesis that 'Let Us make man in Our own image and likeness'.

The pastors made the call when a team of Ghana News Agency (GNA) reporters went round the Municipality during their respective homilies at various December 31st night church services to mark the end of 2018.

They implied that 'God did not create us for nothing but with diverse levels of potentials, talents and innate qualities that have been tapped to build the world as it is now'.

At Bethany Methodist Church at Kotokrom, a suburb in the Municipality, Reverend Akwasi Yeboah Ankamah, the head pastor urged Ghanaians to demonstrate a sense of patriotism and focus on helping with ideas that would contribute to build a better nation.

He condemned the canker of bribery and corruption, because those socio-economic vices were among the contributory factors that had been militating against national progress.

Rev Ankamah suggested each Ghanaian could also contribute effectively for the progress of the nation by keeping the environment clean because good and proper sanitation practices resulted in healthy living.

In so doing, he said government's expenditure on waste management and health services would be lesser and such monies could be channelled to finance other vital sectors like education.

Bishop Emmanuel Wiseman Kwasi Kusi, the Founder and General Overseer of the Glorious Inheritance Church-Ghana at 'Area Four', located within the centre of the Sunyani Township, cautioned the youth to desist from indulging in 'Sakawa', devilish means 'to get rich quick'.

He said dubious ways of getting wealth quickly was leading a lot of people into eternal damnation.

According to him, the situation if not checked could possibly create the next future leaders with questionable and fraudulent characters.
