Staff of ETG Integrated Services has donated Ghs 3,848 to the West Africa AIDS Foundation (WAAF) towards HIV prevention in the country.

The donation is to support the health outreach activities regularly embarked upon by the Foundation as part of its strategies to ensure that many Ghanaians receive education on HIV prevention, get tested and get linked into care if found to be HIV positive.

The Human Resource Officer of ETG Integrated Services, Mrs. Christiana Annan said the donation forms part of their annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects and the desire to experience an HIV- free Ghana.

She encouraged Corporate Ghana to join in the fight against the spread of HIV in the country by supporting NGO's working passionately to halt the spread of HIV.

Receiving the donation on behalf of WAAF, the Communication and Learning Manager of WAAF Mrs Barbara Owusu expressed gratitude to ETG Integrated Services for the kind gesture.

She indicated that it is through such donations that enabled WAAF to move into various communities in Ghana to educate and screen individuals for HIV.

Ms. Owusu noted that being diagnosed HIV positive was no longer a death sentence, indicating that, in 2018, the Foundation through its outreach activities was able to identify 35 new cases of people with HIV in Ghana, most of whom were put on care at designated Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) clinics/sites.

She advises corporate entities in Ghana to ensure that their staff were regularly screened in order to halt the unintentional spread of the disease by individuals who were not aware of their HIV positive status.
