Bayern Munich defender, Jerome Boateng will be visiting Ghana for the very first time.

Jerome born to a German mother and a Ghanaian father in Berlin.

In an Instagram post, the German-born Ghanaian international expressed his joy ahead of his trip to the country.

He wrote: “Special trip ahead... can‘t wait to visit Ghana for the very first time.”

The experienced centre-back in an earlier interview revealed that he will be visiting Ghana and lo and behold he has stick to his words.

“I have been to Africa but I didn’t go to Ghana," Boateng told DW.

Although yet to visit Ghana, the former Manchester City defender holds the country dearly in his heart.

“The tattoo started when I was 16-year-old," Jerome said.

"I was with my two older brothers and they said 'today we are all going to do the same tattoo but don’t tell your mother'.

"So we all went and had our bodies tattooed.
"It was the continent of Africa with Ghana inside."

Jerome is the younger brother of Kevin Prince Boateng who has played 15 times for the Black Stars, scoring two goals in the process.

The 29-year-old was a key for Joachim Löw 's side that won the Fifa World Cup with Die Mannschaft in 2014 which was held in Brazil.
