Nkoranza District Assemply commended for initiating projects

Akropong (B/A) Nov. 21, GNA - Mr. George Franklin Effah, Assembly Member for Akropong in the Nkoranza district has commended the District Assembly for initiating development projects to help improve the life of the people.

Mr Effah told the Ghana News Agency that the Assembly had constructed a Block of three classrooms with an office and store, as well as a six-seater KVIP toilet in the community.

The Assembly also provided four large street bulbs in support of an electrification project in the area.

For winning the second best area in sanitation, the Assembly donated one million cedis, a certificate and sanitary equipment to the Akropong community.

Mr. Effah said the people of Akropong had also benefited from three boreholes under the Assembly's water and sanitation programme. At Abuontam in the electoral area, Mr. Effah announced that the people had benefited from an irrigation project under the Village Infrastructure Project to help improve their agricultural activities. They have been provided with a block of three classrooms with an office and store, with a four-seater KVIP toilet attached. Two boreholes and a large storage facility for maize farmers have also been provided under the food crops development project. Mr. Effah said Dandwa, also in the electoral area, had been provided with a three-classroom block, an office and store while another three-classroom block for the local kindergarten was also under construction.

He said the Assembly had provided a borehole and was also contributing to the construction of a three-classroom block for the local primary school at Grumakrom.
