A radio show host and a panelist have been invited by the Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for interview for allegedly insulting president Nana Akufo-Addo.

Mr Mohammed, the show host on Sela Radio in the Volta Region, is alleged to have allowed Luis Adjin, a panelist on his show, to insult the president, the police in Sogakope in the Volta Region said.

Adjin is alleged to have insulted the president as a "foolish man, bogus man" in a broadcast discussion.

He was reported to the police by the North Tongu Constituency chair of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Grace Kutu-Acheampong, according to the letter addressed to the director of Sela Radio.

The CID letter was signed by the North Tongu crime officer, Mr Joseph Nakoja.

"Gratefully release Mr Mohammed of yours to report to the Divisional Crime Officer at Sogakope on Friday 22/12/2018 at 0900 hours to assist investigation.

"He is also advised to come along with Mr Lusi Adjin and audio recording to aid investigation," the letter to the director of Sela Radio noted.

According to the CID, the conduct of the two is conducive to the breach of peace in the area.
