Instituted in 2017, the programme was meant to identify and celebrate young entrepreneurs who have distinguished themselves in the success of their respective businesses.

The event is also organized to honour successful business players below the age of 40 playing useful roles in the business environment.

Chairman of McDan Group, Dr. Daniel Mckorley and German Political Foundation Group, (KAS-Ghana) were conferred honoree awards for supporting youth entrepreneurship development in the country.

A number of celebrity entrepreneurs were also given Honorary Citations for their immense contribution in the country’s entrepreneurship sector. They were Deloris Frimpong Manso, Tracy Boakye, Kofi Okyere Darko and John Dumelo.

The Executive Director of Youth Business Network Foundation, Mr. Solomon Adjei said as part of realizing the reality of the Ghana Beyond Aid agenda, it was important young business chief executives who are making considerable efforts and playing enormous roles for society’s benefits are empowered to create more business opportunities.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Carlos Ahenkorah said there is growing appetite among the youth in Ghana for innovation and creativity as over 60,000 entrepreneurs have been identified for creating some 1000s of jobs.

“It is refreshing that provision of entrepreneurial ecosystem to support private sector to flourish is not a new concept”.

“The ministry is working with stakeholders who already have incubation and acceleration programmes for the youth to expand the scope and reach of these programmes so that every young entrepreneur shall be covered” he said.

The ceremony is a platform that offers opportunity to young business and start-up owners the urge and drives to continuously contribute to the business sector of the economy, which stands greater chance to be honoured at the subsequent awards ceremony.
