YPI - Ghana Mentors youth in Birim South District

The youth in Birim South District of Ghana were full of joy and confidence after a successful mentorship seminar organized by Young People Initiative- Ghana.

The seminar was aimed at empowering the youth to explore their potentials. The event was held at Akyem Awisa in the Birim south District in the Eastern region of Ghana.

The seminar saw many schools like Awisa Presby Boarding School, Awisa Methodist school, Awisa-Apaaso Salvation Army school, Akyem swedru presby school, Akyem swedru Methodist school, St. Agatha's Girls school, St. Andrews school, St. Michael's school, Akyem Aduasa D/A school, and Akyem Atuntumirem D/A school participating. Also participating were students from Oda Senior High school (Odasco) and Achiase Senior High School (Achisec).

Participants were glued to the lectures from renowned speakers who graced the seminar. Among them were Lawyer Kwasi Boatey (Private Legal Practitioner), Kofi Appiah-kwakye (CEO, swimming Pool consultant), Mercy Frempomaa Darko (Licensed Investment Advisor and a chartered Accountant), Theodora Wuni (Business Consultant), Auguster Boateng ( journalist and award winning social Entrepreneur) and Roland kumi ( a hair stylist from Roly's hair, Accra).

The speakers spoke on wide range of issues ranging from career choice, sex education, dealing with the opposite sex, building self confidence, Starting right /values to responsibilities among others.

The fully packed auditorium was entertaining as speakers upon speakers delivers to their full potentials.

Lawyer kwasi Boatey urged the participants to develop their full potentials. That's identify their Purpose in life, Harnessing it and Dedicating themselves to achieve their aim in life. He further said that their purpose in life could be achieved if only they are focused, determined and confident.

Kofi Appiah-Kwakye also advised the youth to do away with fears and build themselves confidently to meet the realities in the world.

The other speakers urged the youth to unearth their talents while staying confident and true to themselves. They were also advised to be circumspect while dealing with the opposite sex.

Akosua Ntiriwaa Anti, CEO of YPI-Ghana also motivated the students and advised them to choose their career very well. She encouraged them to follow their passion so they will not regret in life. Akosua Anti assured the youth that more of such seminars will be organized in the various regions to mentor other youth and to empower them to become whoever they wants.

The youth were more enthused about the program and they confessed that they have been enlightened in their career since they are yet to face the real world.

Awurama Nyarkoa Agyei a member of the YPI-Ghana team thanked the participants for honouring the program and urged them to stay focus in life.

The seminar was organized by the Young People's Initiative -Ghana in partnership with Herald Foundation Ghana and supported by the Aspire to Inspire Network, C- Nectar Honey, Rave TV, Ynonny Catering Services, Elleana Chillz and Rolly's hair.
