President promotes directors of prisons

President Akufo-Addo has promoted some Directors of Prisons with effect from December 1, 2018, pursuant to Article 207(3) of the 1992 Constitution.

Mr. Sylvester Kojo Badu Rabbles who was the Director of Prisons in charge of Operations and Agriculture is now the Deputy Director-General in charge of Operations.

Mrs. Josephine Fredua-Agyeman who was the Director of Prisons in charge of Welfare is now the Deputy Director-General in charge of Administration.

A Statement signed by Superintendent Vitalis Aiyeh, Chief Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Prisons Service also said Isaac Kofi Egyir, the former Eastern Regional Prisons Commander and Nelson Basubinin Duut, the former Ashanti Regional Prisons Commander who were both Deputy Directors of Prisons are now Directors of Prisons.

According to the Statement, the following Assistant Directors of Prisons have also been elevated to the status of Deputy Director of Prisons.

They are Godwin Mawuena K. Hoenyedzi, Hanson Kwame Adu-Awuku, Samuel Adjei-Attah, Andrews K. Dzokoto, Francis Omane-Addo, Gloria Essandoh, Samuel Sapak Zoogah, Christopher Nyamedi and Benedict Bob-Dery.

The rest are Samuel Akolbire, Edward Fiifi Acquah, Joana Fofo Tackie-Otoo (Mrs.), Kwaku Agyeman-Duah and Abraham Nii Moi Allotey.
