Ada Traditional Council Asked To Map Out Lands For Agriculture
12.12.2018 LISTEN

Member of Parliament (MP) for Sege, Mr Christian Otuteye, has called on the Ada Traditional Council to map out arable lands for agriculture with a tenancy agreement with the farmers.

He said the rate at which farmlands were being sold to estate developers was alarming and not helping to promote agriculture at Sege and its environs.

Mr Otuteye made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency after he had met with some farmers, who won awards during the Farmers Day at Sege Nakomkope in the Greater Accra Region.

He said government had provided a number of interventions such as the provision of fertilizer and improved seedlings at subsidised prices to make agriculture a lucrative venture.

However, the unavailability of farmlands would thwart the efforts of the Government's agenda of 'Moving Ghana Beyond Aid,' he said.
