HON. LAWYER BARBARA OTENG - GYASI (MRS.) WISHES ALL HARD WORKING FARMERS IN PRESTEA HUNI-VALLEY HAPPY FARMERS' DAY

On the occasion of this years Farmers' Day celebration, I wish to extend my warmest greetings to all farmers and fishermen in my constituency, and the entire country for providing food security to sustain the nation through thier hard work and sacrifice.

Indeed, every day is Farmers' Day since a day is insufficient to trully appreciate the work of farmers and fishermen in the country.

Whenever we sit at table for breakfast, lunch or supper, we need to remember to thank farmers and offer a word of prayer for God to continually sustain them to keep on ensuring we have food to eat for subsistence.

With dint of hard work you have survived the threat of the Fall Army Worms and other diseases associated with cash crops and demonstrated your commitment to your chosen profession and we appreciate your dedication.

I encourage you to continue with the good as you contribute your quota to National Development.

To this year's winners, accept my warmest congratulations ‘Ayekoo', keep it up. Consider yourselves as recipients on behalf of all farmers as it is not possible to recorgnize all our deserving farmers.

I also take opportunity to assure our farmers that government is committed to putting in place all the necessary strategies such as Planting for food and Jobs will be expanded next year to support them to obtain utmost benefit from thier profession and contribute to the vission of a GHANA BEYOND AID.

To the farmers in my municipality I assure you that as your Member of Parliament, I will endeavour to ensure that you perticipate in all programmes designed to give you value for your produce to improve upon your livelihood.

Congratulations to all farmers and fisherfolks across the country and the minicipality on this Special Occasion. May the Good Lord continue to uphold you and grant you strength and long life.
