The people of Dagbon comprising both young and old Saturday morning, 1st December, 2018 held a peace walk in Tamale, the Northern Regional capital to express readiness and commitment for evalasting peace during and after the funeral rites of the late KINGS of Dagbon.
The demostrators converged at the Jubilee Park at about 6:30am and match through the other the principal streets of Tamale holding placards with different inscriptions.
Participants in the match included sympathizers of the two royal family, youth groups and civil society organisations in the region.
The funeral rites, which are expected to last for two weeks, will commence on December 14 and end on December 28, 2018, after which the Abudus will leave the Gbewa Palace peacefully.
The Andanis will also take their turn at the Gbewa Palace to organize the funeral rites of the late Yaa-Naa Yakubu Andani from 4-18 January 2019.
Todays exercise signifies the beginning of unity between the two royal gates, Abudu and Andani and to up peace in Dagbon and to abide by the resolutions enshrined in the roadmap of the Otumfuo lead committee of three eminent Kings tasked by government to find a lasting solution to the Dagbon Chieftency dispute.
