Atinka Village's Francis Sasu Goes Home On January 19th

Funeral rites of the Former Head of News and Current Affairs of Atinka Media Village, Francis Sasu, have been announced.

The burial will be held from January 18 to 20, 2019 in Accra.

This was disclosed at the one-week celebration of the late Francis Sasu in Accra on Wednesday by Nana Kwadwo Darko, the Adehyihene of Obo-Kwahu and the Head of the Aduana Royal Family, of which the deceased was a member.

He explained that there would be a wake-keeping on January 18, followed by a burial service on January 19 in Accra but the place of burial would be made known to the public later. A thanksgiving service would be held on January 20.

Mr Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, the Managing Director the Atinka Media Village, said the late Sasu contributed his quota to the development of the Atinka Media Group and the media fraternity.

He said the deceased had respect for humanity irrespective of one's age, class, rank and status.

'Our lives have been transformed and touched by Francis Sasu who lived a Godly and disciplined life,' he said.

Mr Dwuomfour expressed gratitude to the family and all who supported the Atinka Media Village to organise the one-week celebration.

Francis Sasu's journalism career spanned almost four decades. He had his youthful career with the National Lotteries from 1973 to 1981.

After eight years of productive work, he joined the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) and retired in 2011 after 30 years of dedicated service.

He had a stint with ZTV from 2014 to 2016 and then joined the Atinka Media Village as the Head of News and Current Affairs until his demise.

The Late Francis Sasu, whose sudden demise occurred on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, was 67 years. He left behind a wife and four children.

The One-week celebration saw performances from gospel musicians and the Ghana Police Band among others.

In attendance were the Executive of the Ghana Journalists Association, Staff of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, ZTV, the Security Service, the Musicians Union of Ghana and politicians.
