The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) premises were last Wednesday turned into boxing arena when the Workers Union Shop Steward, Mr. Eric Annor physically assaulted the corporation's acting Board secretary and assistant director of administration, Alhaji Hamidu Chodi.

Narrating his ordeal at the Nima Police Station in Accra, Alhaji Chodi said he just came out of the GBC's Training room when Mr. Annor suddenly held his shirt by the neck and attempted to strangle him but he resisted. After that he (Annor) started punching him indiscriminately.

One of the blows hit his left jaw which immediately started swelling. Some louver blades broke as a result of the confrontation. Alhaji said he first reported the matter to the GBC guard commander upon whose advice the case was reported to the police. A source close to the Ridge Hospital said Alhaji Chodi reported at the emergency Unit complaining of headache and swollen left jaw due to the assault. The source indicated further that Alhaji Chodi was diagnosed of confusion of the left jaw.
