Nkoranza (B/A) Nov. 2, GNA - Members of Nkoranza-Tripoli Youth Association have spent about 1.2 million cedis to rehabilitate roads at Nkoranza to facilitate the movement of vehicles and pedestrians. Mr. Samuel Yaw Adjei, Chairman of the Association told the Ghana News Agency at Nkoranza that even though it was the responsibility of the Department of Highways to do the roads, members of the Association were equally concerned about their deplorable nature. The Chairman noted that the forthcoming celebration of the Munufie-Kese yam festival would draw more vehicles and people to the area and the deplorable state of the streets could cause accidents. Mr. Adjei announced that the traditional authorities in Nkoranza were expecting the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei-Tutu II to attend the festival.

He expressed gratitude to members of the association for their voluntary spirit, saying such efforts were expected of the communities. Mr. Adjei paid special tribute to Nana Yaw Adjei, a driver of the District Assembly, for conveying the volunteers to work on the road even on Sundays.
