The problems that have plagued the state broadcaster, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation got to a head this morning when workers of the corporation are reported to have clashed with some board members who had come to the broadcaster's premises to deliver a letter to the current Director General of the Corporation who has been asked to proceed on leave.

There was heavy security presence made up of military and police personnel to calm down tempers. There were reports of a deadlock between concern staff of the corporation and the unionized workers.

The situation at the corporation's premises almost got out of control when a letter, supposedly signed by Alhaji Hamidu Chodi, a member of the board of GBC interdicting five members of the workers union was being delivered by the board member. This resulted in confrontation between one of the interdicted staff, Eric Annor and Alhaji Chodi.

Michael Allotey the youth leader of the unionized workers told CITI News that they were surprised that the authorities would allow Ms. Lokko to run down the corporation and also confirmed that, the interdicted Director of Finance, Mr Kofi Tse is still at post.

Michael Allotey added that if the scheduled handing over by Ms. Eva Lokko to the board chairman does not take place, the GBC workers union would advice themselves.
