The Municipal Chief Executive for Prestea Huni-valley Municipal Assembly, Hon. Mozart Kwaku Owuh on Friday, 19th October, 2018 cut sod for the construction of a 2 number-unit classroom block at Yareyeya, a farming community in the Prestea Huni-valley Municipality.

The project which is been funded by the District Development Facility is expected to be completed within eight months.

Hon. Mozart Kwaku Owuh said, this was in response to a call from the chief and elders of the community following a thank you tour with the Member of Parliament, Hon. Lawyer Mrs Barbara Oteng Gyasi across the municipality during his early days in office, the MCE appreciated the challenges of the school and decided to provide a classroom block to cater for their educational needs.

The project, which includes an office, a store room, dining hall, sanitary facility, furniture and mechanized borehole, is to be executed by CCL Construction Company Limited.

The ground breaking ceremony was attended by the Chief, Elders and residents of Yareyeya community, Prestea Huni-valley Municipal Director of Education Mrs. Mary Vida Kwofie, Municipal Works Department Head Mr. Scott, Municipal Engineer Mr. Osei, Prestea Huni-valley Constituency NPP Research Officer Mr. Yaw Owusu and the Local Media.

“This project is geared towards my vision of improving access to Education which is in conjunction with SDG goal 4” the MCE added.

He urged the people to provide the needed support that could help the contractor to complete the project on time.

While commending the people for their cooperation, he advised them to maintain the facility when completed to enable it to last long.

The Chief and Elders of Yareyeya, expressed their profound gratitude to the Member Of Parliament Hon. Lawyer. Mrs. Barbara Oteng Gyasi and the MCE for the provision of a borehole and now an ultra-modern KG block for the community.

A retired Education Officer Mr. Charles Inkoom, who is a resident of Yareyeya commended the MCE for the kind gesture.
