Nsuta (Ash), Nov 01, GNA - The story of how a 40-year-old barkeeper hit the head of her former husband with a pestle and wounded him was last week Monday told at the Nsuta circuit court. Before the court was Afua Adutwumwah charged with causing harm to her former husband, Mr Philip Sarpong, a teacher. She pleaded guilty and was fined two million cedis or in default she will serve six months imprisonment.

Police Inspector Solomon Etrew told the court that both the complainant and the accused were married and lived at Jamasi. On September 16 Adutwumwah, armed with pestle, went to the house of her former husband who was then sleeping and started banging on his door with the pestle and asked him to come out from the room. Immediately the complainant came out, Adutwumwah hit his head with the pestle and he fell down unconscious.
