Lofa County senior senator-elect, Sumo G. Kupee, has been flown to Ghana to seek further medial attention for illness believed to be related to intense campaign activities.

According to some members of his campaign team the senior senator-elect' illness is due to "two months of hectic exercises" he engaged in during the campaign period. "This man doe not rest," a campaign aide said.

Family sources however could not say what was the nature or extent of the Mr. Kupee' illness but noted that he was advised by doctors in Monrovia to seek further medical treatment abroad following more than a week of medical attention.

According to them, Mr. Kupee' condition is "not too serious to cause worry." It may be recalled that in September this year, Mr. Kupee was involved in an auto accident in the Paynesville area in which the mini-jeep in which he was riding collided with a truck, leaving the left side of the mini-jeep" badly damaged".

Besides, he was said to have also been involved in another auto accident in the same month while returning from Foya District to Kolahum in Lofa County during his campaign for the senatorial seat.

The senator-elect, family sources said, felt sick shortly after returning from his campaign trail in Lofa County two weeks ago and only appeared in public Wednesday last week when NEC announced the results of the October 11 presidential and legislative elections. It is not clear whether or not these successive auto accidents have any link to his current health problem.
