Suhum, Oct. 31, GNA - The Suhum Constituency branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has elected a nine-member executive to steer the affairs of the party for the next four years at a delegate's conference at Nankese in the Eastern Region.

The officers were Mr Andrews Yao Adu, Chairman, Frank Alfred Dadebo, First Vice Chairman, Raymond Quartey, Second Vice-Chairman, James Larweh, Secretary, Emmanuel Wiafe, Assistant Secretary, Douglas Ohene Ansah, Organiser, Ms Agnes Asante, Women Organiser, Nana Odei Amoako, Treasurer and Tanko Mohammed, Youth Organiser.

In an acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman, Mr Adu, thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him.

He said the party needed peace and unity to win the 2008 election and appealed to the members who, because of petty scrambles abandoned the party, to return to build a strong constituency.

Mr Adu said the NDC won two elections in the constituency whilst the NPP had also won two elections, adding that the 2008 election would therefore determine the party, which is strong in the constituency. He assured the delegates and the entire members of the party that he would do everything possible to bring peace among the old and the new executive members of the party.

The District Chief Executive, Mr Michael Kofi Mensah, commended the newly elected executives and reminded them that the NPP wining the 2008 election depended largely on the executive members and therefore urged them to burry their differences to achieve victory to the constituency in the 2008 elections.

The Eastern Regional Chairman of the NPP, Nana Adi Ankomah later swore the executives into office.

Present at the function was the Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Yaw Barimah.
