Only registered private schools are to get logistics from GES

Breman Asikuma (C/R), Oct 31, GNA - Mrs Janet Ama Lassey, the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Director of Education, has called on private schools to register with the District Directorate of Education to enable them receive supply of logistics from the government. She said the government has been supplying logistics including textbooks to public and private school to ease the burden on parents. Mrs Lassey said this at a durbar to round off the weeklong 10th Anniversary celebration of the Church of Christ International School at Breman Asikuma.

She said the Ghana Education Service has put in place measures to regulate the actives of approved schools to ensure that education is not just a business enterprise

They include cost structure, fees, physical structures, and calibre of personnel and organisation of in-service training for personnel. Mr Samuel Mends, the Manager of the school, said the school is assisting six of its teachers to undertake distance education course at the University of Education, Winneba.
