Friends For Mac Manu Formed In Chicago

MAC MANU - A NEW VISION FOR THE NPP

A number of NPP members resident in the United States of America have formed a group called Friends For Mac Manu (FFORMM) for the sole purpose of supporting the candidacy of Mr. Peter Mac Manu as the National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party at this year's National Congress of the party.

A spokesperson for the group, Nana Kofi Owusu-Ansah of Chicago, Illinois, stated the group is made up of Ghanaians living in various states of the USA, namely Illinois, Wisconsin, Texas, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Michigan.

Nana Kofi Owusu-Ansah said the group believes Mac Manu has demonstrated exemplary leadership ability in his role as the Western Regional Chairman of the NPP since 1998. He further stated that Mac Manu has a proven track record of accomplishment in the Western Region in that capacity and is uniquely qualified to lead the NPP as its National Chairman. The FORMM, Nana Kofi Owusu-Ansah continued, has been impressed by the able stewardship of the NPP by Mr. Mac Manu in the Western Region. He added that Mac Manu has served the party in various capacities since becoming of the Founding members of the NPP in 1992. He was instrumental in the formation of the Young Executive Forum (YEF) which helped organize young and enterprising business men and women to provide financial and logistic support for the NPP since its formation in 1992.

Mac Manu has served the party as a polling station agent, Executive member of the Sekondi Constituency in the Western Region and currently as the Region's incumbent Chairman, a position that he occupied since 1998 and has served and chalked a lot of successes to the admiration of all party faithfuls. He has served on many national level committees of the party. The FFORMM notes with admiration that at each level of various responsibilities that Mac Manu was assigned or embarked on, he demonstrated that he is a team player who can deliver, and has delivered results, solid, good results! Mac Manu's record of achievement in his stewardship of the NPP in the Western Region has been impressive and it is a clear testimony to his leadership qualities and abilities.

The FFORMM emphasizes that the NPP needs a new kind of leadership with the vision to build on the success of the party for the challenges the party faces in 2008 and beyond. The group believes and is convinced that Mac Manu has that kind of leadership. He has been tested and proved that he can deliver. He has that capacity and ability to build bridges between the young and old members of the party. The FFORMM believes Mac Manu will tap the rich experiences of the old and utilize the enthusiasm and exuberance of the youth to strengthen the party for more successes in the future.

Mr. Mac Manu has accepted each responsibility of supporting and defending the NPP and has borne true faith and allegiance o the party. He has demonstrated tremendous passion and loyalty in his service of the party. The FFORMM is convinced he will bring the same level of commitment, passion, loyalty, and service to the party as the National Chairman of the NPP. We therefore call on all the members of the NPP electoral body to vote for Mac Manu as the next National Chairman of the NPP.
