Tepa (Ash), Oct 27, GNA - Mr David Merz, Chairman of the Tepa Wood Workers Association in the Ahafo-Ano North District, has appealed to the district assembly, institutions and departments in the district to assist them in the award of contracts.

He said they could be awarded contracts to make furniture, door and window frames and the roofing of public buildings to enable them to get more apprentices, pay their taxes and educate their children. Mr Merz made the appeal after 25 members of the association spent about three hours to repair tables and chairs, students' beds at the Tepa Secondary School at the weekend.

He said wood workers in the area were as qualified as any of those from outside the area who were awarded contracts and as such should also be considered for such contracts.

Mrs Felicia Agyemang, the Assistant Headmistress of the school, thanked the association for the voluntary spirit and urged them to extend the same gesture to the basic schools and other institutions in the district.
